Original jazz in a traditional style is what defines this singer-songwriter. Ember and Oak Sessions grew up between gospel choirs and her grandmother’s record shelf, and the American songbook became her first language. In 2008, she sang her first small-club set — and set out on a search for musicians who would play her originals.
That is how her first album, Honey & Smoke, appeared. Shortly after release it went platinum and attracted thousands of fans all over the world. Today, she is one of the most recognizable soul-jazz vocalists whose voice is unforgettable.
